Inspired by Susan Sontag’s “On Photography” in which she defines the creation of spaces in photography through framing both physical and metaphorical, ‘cuadros’ presents a scene where frames appear, morph, evolve and disappear. While their existence is short lived, the frames invite the audience on a journey of escapism into the abstract melting of colours, shapes and ideas temporary realities that merge with one another.
The sonic landscape guides the audience into a melodic, non-linear, timeline that keeps on building on top of itself. It doesn’t have a beginning or end. Instead it’s a never dying sequence that has existed long before the viewer gazes upon it, and will continue to do so after they are gone.
The ever-evolving scene alludes to the impossibility of stillness the constant movement of sound, image, and life. The images are constantly influenced by previous images and morphing to new dimensions. ‘cuadros’ leverages digital technologies to create a space where the real and the constructed intertwine. It proposes a space of constant transformation where new realities are continuously built upon. Taking on Dubois’ “The Photographic Act” the project aims to dissect time and memory, as a picture would do, exploring how the content interacts with itself throughout time, capturing moments that are both past and present. The moving images become a tool for memory, merging the present and the past.

co_de_sus’ debut EP is a little block of experiments, ideas, and explorations of the influence between the moving image and the sonic representation of it. The work creates an audiovisual bridge, exploring different scenarios in. The whole EP creates a sandbox where sonic experimentation and visual representation are allowed to exist, play together and merge, influencing each other.
Through modular synthesisers and algorithms, the music and visuals embrace generative elements, making each piece unique. The visuals react to the audio in real time and are influenced by the sonic landscapes, and vice versa. The visual exploration combines both computer-generated images as well as analog footage that is later digitally manipulated, while the sonic landscapes are made out of a mix of extensive sound design, sampling, field-recording and randomness.

co_de_sus’s second EP, estancias is a more contemplative and slow exploration, while Fluye is an exploration of movement and its influence towards an audiovisual piece, estancias tries to create a slower, steadier movement, allowing for each track to slowly peak and create a wider sonic landscape.
